Callistemon

Genre that has about thirty species of evergreen shrubs of medium size, originating in \ 'Australia, growth has quite slow and generally remain close to the size of 150-200 cm in height, prostrate varieties also exist, such as C. viminalis.

The stems are erect, much branched, rigid, brown, small leaves are lanceolate, stiff and leathery, dark green, usually in the spring new leaves are bronze-colored or reddish. Starting from late spring until September, at \ 'apex of the branches bloom long formed panicles of small flowers with showy colored stamens; l \' inflorescence has the \ 'look of a jacket or a large brush, usually in color red, but there are species and cultivars with white flowers, green, yellow or purple.

This very decorative plant is typically used as a single specimen, even as small trees. The practice is pruning after flowering.
